Audio story: two BU student researchers address plastic pollution at the micro level

BOSTON — Two Boston University student researchers discovered something unexpected while collecting seagrass samples for a project in the Caribbean waters off the coast of Belize – plastic, but not the kind you can see. Microfiber plastics stick to the blades of seagrass which gets eaten by herbivores and works its way up the food chain all the way to us – seafood consumers.
