The 2025 World Series has been set. The Los Angeles Dodgers will face the Toronto Blue Jays in a traditional best-of-seven series starting this Friday in Toronto.

The Dodgers are coming into the series strong after winning the National League title in four straight wins against the Milwaukee Brewers in the championship series.

Shohei Ohtani, starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, dominated in the last game of the qualifying series against the Brewers. Ohtani continues to write himself into history books, recording three home runs in the game while also pitching six shutout innings with ten strikeouts, according to MLB statistics.

The American League side of the World Series pairing was determined last night after a dramatic six-game lead-up. The matchup between the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays brought out highlight-worthy plays on both sides during game seven.

The Blue Jays ultimately took the series, winning the game four to three

The Mariners did not make it easy for the Blue Jays. Seattle took the first two games of the series, and Toronto was able to respond and bring the pairing back to the Canadian Rogers Centre for game seven.

Both teams got on the scoreboard early, and Seattle, after two more home runs, led the game until the bottom seventh inning. Blue Jays’ George Springer hit a three-run homer off of the second pitch thrown by Mariners’ reliever Eduard Bazardo. Toronto finally took the lead, and when Springer rounded the bases triumphantly, he was met with roars from the home crowd and his teammates at home plate.

Seattle was not able to respond in the eighth or ninth inning, ending their postseason run. The Mariners will return home, remaining as the only MLB franchise without a pennant.

Blue Jays fans took to the streets after the game, celebrating what could be the franchise’s biggest win since a walk-off home run in 1993. This will be Toronto’s first World Series appearance since 1993.
