I don’t know what it is with you New Englanders, but you celebrate a lot of holidays. Not that I’m complaining. President’s Day just never made it to the school calendar back at my alma mater in Oklahoma. Spring break is still a ways off, so I’ll take any extra break I can get. Here’s where the fun is in Boston this weekend.

Shit-faced Shakespeare

The deeply highbrow fusion of an entirely serious Shakespeare play with one entirely shit-faced cast member, Shit-faced Shakespeare continues its Boston run with Romeo and Juliet at The Rockwell (formerly the Davis Square Theatre) and ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ at Laugh Boston.

With a genuinely drunken professional actor selected at random every night, no two shows are ever the same and audiences can even dictate when the actor gets to drink more to prevent unwanted sobriety.

Where: Laugh Boston + The Rockwell

When: Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m.

Cost: Discounted $15 tickets HERE.

Opera on Tap’s Winter Warmer

Imbibe stellar drinks and food while enjoying dynamic performances from some of Boston’s finest young singers as they let their hair down and bring you into what feels like an after-hours back stage party singing opera, musical theater and jazz standards.

Featuring: Tascha Anderson, Laura Ethington, Michael Merullo, Carrie Reid-Knox, Nathan Rodriguez and Dan Rodriguez

Where: The Burren

When: Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

Cost: FREE
