Sunday may have been the first day of spring, but that’s not stopping the snow from coming to Massachusetts, where a winter storm warning is in effect for the southeastern region of the Bay State.
The National Weather Service is predicting a 100 percent chance of snow in the greater Boston area overnight Sunday to Monday. Officials expect a total of 1 to 3 inches of snow to fall overnight. Winds will blow at 6 to 9 mph.
Forecasters predict snow will continue to fall into Monday morning, mainly before 11 a.m. Winds will pick up speed and blow 9 to 11 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph. Another 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall on Monday. Conditions will clear up by Monday night.
Classes have already been cancelled for Boston Public Schools on Monday.
