Humans and their canine companions, dressed in costumes of varying genres and themes — from Game of Thrones to Dr. Seuss, from corsair to culinary — for what is the Faneuil Hall Marketplace’s Halloween Pet Parade and Costume Contest 2019 in Boston, Mass. The parade, held in Boston’s West End and sponsored by New Hampshire amusement park Canobie Lake Park, awards prizes for Best of Show, Best Owner and Pet Combo, Most Creative, Spookiest, Best Group, and Best Local Representation. Participants and visitors flock from all over Massachusetts, even some as far as Maine, to compete in the contest or simply to enjoy the Halloween festivities on Sat. Oct. 26.
