Pedestrian Struck on Commonwealth Avenue

Westbound traffic on Commonwealth Avenue came to a halt on Thursday evening after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the Agganis Arena.

Officer James Kenneally, spokesperson for the Boston Police Department, said BPD received a call at 6:20 p.m. regarding the incident, which took place around Commonwealth Avenue and Harry Agganis Way. Kenneally said the victim is a woman in her 50s. She was taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Kenneally said.

No other information was known about the incident as of 9 p.m. Thursday night.
