Report: Iran Releases Imprisoned Journalist Honored By BU

CNN is reporting that imprisoned journalist Jason Rezaian, the Washington Post’s Tehran bureau chief and the recipient of the Hugo Shong Reporting on Asia Award at Boston University, was released in Iran, according to Iran’s FARS news agency.

The CNN report states that “the release is part of a prisoner swap deal.”

Rezaian was one of four prisoners from the United States released. No other names or details regarding the others have been released.
