On election night and into the following day, a blend of excitement and anxiety filled Washington, D.C. Anticipation built from the early hours of voting to the tense, late-night updates in the historic race between President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Supporters gathered in D.C. with their eyes fixed on screens as results trickled in, uncertainty stretching late into the night. After hours of suspense, the unexpected outcome left hundreds of thousands feeling the weight of a unexpected overturn.
