Thousands gathered at Faneuil Hall to usher in the holiday season with a Boston tradition Friday night.
More than 30,000 lights lit up the 85-feet tall Norwegian Spruce as Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker flipped the switch to the cheers of the crowd.
The event featured holiday music from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Sons of Serendip and children’s groups as well as performances by the Blue Man Group and Cirque Dreams Holidaze.
