On Nov. 4, BUTV will broadcast special coverage of the midterm election in a segment called “Beyond the Ballot,” at 6 p.m. ET. This episode will take a comprehensive approach to covering the election, with student producers, reporters, and experts involved throughout the show.
Hosted by Boston University students, the hour-long live program will deliver analysis, interviews, in-the-field reporting and a look into polling results after months of preparation.
Expert interviews for the evening include sit-downs with John Harris, the co-founder of Politico, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell, Samantha Gross who is a political reporter for the Boston Globe (COM ’18), and Washington Correspondent and Former Bureau Chief Washington Jacqueline Policastro (COM ’06).
The program will also dive into the record number of ballot questions Massachusetts voters will see at the polls. Nine different questions cover a range of topics and policy issues from marijuana regulations to gun safety.
BUTV’s 2024 presidential election, United We Vote, provided coverage for the presidential election and won various awards for the BU team.
The show also aims to help students understand what’s at stake for the everyday citizen. Although many BU students are not from Massachusetts, outcomes of this election will undoubtedly shape their time in Boston for the next few years.
Watch “Beyond the Ballot” live on Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. ET, on YouTube.
