Spalding and ShotTracker, maker of new wearable technology for basketball, announced a multi-year partnership this week at CES, aiming to bring new technology to basketball.
The ShotTracker wearable offers up real-time basketball performance statistics, capturing player movement, ball movement and court location. A small wearable is placed on the player’s shoe – which communicates with sensors placed around the court. The ShotTracker software can also track player possession of the ball, passes and more.

Spalding and ShotTracker want coaches and players to use this technology to improve their performance and game strategy through identifying strengths and weaknesses – and then measuring improvements.
ShotTracker is also the official wearable of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. ShotTracker made its debut for individual use this week, and will be available for team use this summer.
