Weekend Shuttle Service for Orange Line Delays Passengers

The MBTA shut down regular service on the Orange Line between the Ruggles and Forest Hills stops on Saturday to make repairs to rail lines, closing all subways stations that service Jamaica Plain. An above-ground shuttle service was put in place, but rides for passengers were nearly twice as long as usual. The sliver lining? Most passengers were glad the train service was stopped on the weekend, rather than during the work week.  Few commuters had  complaints about transportation in JP, noting relatively short commutes to downtown Boston.

This comes despite a shooting outside of the Forest Hills station last Friday after an altercation on an MBTA bus. This is a rare occurrence for the T stop, and has not stopped passengers from continuing to ride. Two suspects, Kisean Parker, 18, and Kavasia Lowe, 18, both Boston residents, have since been arrested by the Boston Police Department.
