Boston University’s campus has been brimming with conflict over the arrival of political commentator and Daily Wire editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro. Hosted by the BU chapter of the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), Shapiro’s event has incited protests and ardent dialogue about the fine-line between free speech and hate speech, and the role Boston University plays in protecting one over the other. Now that his event, titled “America Was Not Built On Slavery, It Was Built On Freedom,” is scheduled to sell out the Track and Tennis Center Wednesday, students and faculty alike anxiously await the aftermath of the storm.
