BOSTON—Shoplifting is the most common crime in the Back Bay, Fenway and South End neighborhoods of Boston, according to current data from the Boston Police Department spanning the past three years.
While motor vehicle accidents are the most frequent crime overall, this part of the city, or BPD District D4, is a leader for larceny crimes. In particular, Boylston Street is the number one place for larceny crimes, with 2,076 cases over the past three years — over double the cases found on Newbury Street, which ranks number two.
