The 129th Boston Marathon brought thousands of participants through Newton’s Heartbreak Hill as Spectators cheered runners on as they ran through the iconic 20-mile marker on their way to the finish line.

BU News Service photographer Diana Malton went up to capture the cheerful and energetic atmosphere.
