Every fall, Salem, Massachusetts welcomes thousands of visitors for the traditional spooky celebration of Halloween. Tourists flow in the city’s streets, visiting attractions like the Witch Dungeon Museum where locals accused of allegedly practicing witchcraft were kept in gaols, the jails of the trial era, or the Witch Trial Memorial, where people who allegedly practiced witchcraft were allegedly tried, convicted and executed. During Halloween the city is surrounded by performers cosplaying the spookiest costumes for entertaining and scaring visitors from all over the country.
