LISTEN: Former CIA agent shares his perspective on the Russia-Ukraine war

It’s been more than two months since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a war that has devastated the country and led to the deaths of thousands of civilians. 

As Ukrainian forces continue to defend their country, Russian leadership, including President Vladimir Putin, is showing no intention of stopping. 

Back in March, the BU News Service spoke with Joseph Wippl, a BU International Relations professor and former CIA officer about the pivotal events leading up to the ongoing war, and the region’s long history of conflict with Russia throughout the 20th century, following the Russian Revolution.
