Saturday morning saw former vice-president Joe Biden elected the next president of the United States with more ballots cast than ever before. By the afternoon, hundreds had gathered in Boston Common and around the city — which favored Biden by 83% to Trump’s 16% — in impromptu street-side celebrations of the Democratic win.
Sunday morning residents across eastern Massachusetts started their day to a 3.6 magnitude earthquake reverberating from Buzzards Bay, the strongest earthquake felt in the region in decades.
Are these two events related? Absolutely not. But nevertheless, here’s a look around town on a weekend that shattered multiple records.
