Harper Lee, Pulitzer winner and author of American classic “To Kill A Mockingbird,” has died at the age of 89. Tina Andreadis, spokesperson for HarperCollins confirmed Lee’s death to The Associated Press on Friday.
Only last year, Lee published “Go Set a Watchman,” a prequel to the 1960 classic.
“‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ is one the first pieces of literature that really showed me the impact words can have and inspired my degree in English Literature and my passion for social justice. I hope she realized how important her work was to people,” said Caitlin Bawn, a student at Boston University.
