A crowd, bundled in coats and parkas, gathered at the Rings Fountain on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston to celebrate Greenway’s 10th year on Oct. 17, 2019. The Greenway, which stretches from Chinatown to the North End, is a recreational public space originating from the Big Dig , a central artery and tunnel project. As it clocked ten years, the organizers at Greenway Conservancy, the company that manages the park, recently refurbished the Rings Fountain and fit it with colored LED lights that coordinate their beams with the fountain’s water formations. Now, evenings at the Greenway are speckled with color.
