BOSTON — Cigarette butts are a stinking, ugly example of many environmental problems we face. They are plastic litters that get flicked away without a second thought, only to end up on the beaches, rivers, sidewalks, and beautiful places that humans tend to spoil. But for Taylor Lane, they offer an opportunity. Lane is picking up these butts and turning them into surfboards. He is using these surfboards to film a documentary and look for answers to the question, what can I do about plastic pollution? Reporter Dan Marino has the story.
