Appliance giant Bosch rolled out a new line of smart home appliances at CES 2016, including an internet-connected dishwasher, refrigerator, oven, washer, dryer and Bosch’s first in-wall coffee maker.
The appliances are part of Bosch’s new Home Connect line which is compatible with Bosch’s Home Connect app. Via the app, you can monitor all of your home appliances remotely.
Perhaps one of Bosch’s most compelling smart appliances, the Home Connect refrigerator, is fitted with two small IP cameras that allow you to see inside of the refrigerator on your smartphone app. The cameras are designed to take a picture of the inside of the refrigerator every time the door opens. The cameras can store up to 20 different photos.
The idea behind the Home Connect refrigerator, explained a Bosch spokesperson, is to provide an instant visual status report of the current stock inside so that users can see if they need milk, orange juice or some other item while running errands.” Bosch hopes to eliminate the distance between consumer and home by granting consumers connectivity to their home appliances 24/7.
A new addition to Bosch’s appliance repertoire is their in-wall coffee maker. With Bosch’s Home Connect coffee maker, you can transform your coffee machine into your own, professional barista. You can choose from a list of ten traditional coffees and 20 additional coffee recipes from around the world.
Bosch’s app controls for the smart appliances allow users to select specific cooking and cleaning settings, schedule activation times and be notified when the cycle is complete.
Other offerings include recipes and cooking tips, operation instructions and videos, and remote diagnostics.
