Whether your preferred candidate won or lost Tuesday night, I think we can all agree that we’re just glad it’s over! Finally, we can take our minds off the barrage of polls and commentary, relax and recover. Well, at least until the next presidential election starts next year. Let’s try to enjoy this break while it lasts, shall we? Here’s a few suggestions on how to do so this weekend.
Boston Comedy Festival
For over a decade the Boston Comedy Festival has been the “Comic’s Comedy Festival,” showcasing the most innovative up and coming stand-up comedians in the country, the go-to for the industry looking for their next big comedy star. New England’s biggest comedy festival returns this year to venues around Somerville and Cambridge with performers including Steve Sweeney, Eugene Mirman, Kyle Kinane, Barry Crimmins, Emo Phillips and more. MASSdestruction Robot Competition
MassDestruction returns finally to New England, after a long hiatus. Celebrate the presidential election and apocalypse with our a little robot apocalypse! There will be another election with 1lb and 3lb combat robots, but rather than voting they will fight to smithereens!
Where: Artisan’s Asylum in Somerville
When: Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Breakfast Pastries & Mimosa Cruise
Pair a weekend cruise with freshly baked pastries, mimosas and/or bloody marys aboard the elegant Northern Lights classic-style yacht. Songs for Syria – A Concert for Humanitarian Relief
On Sunday the Syrian-American Medical Society (SAMS), a professional organization representing thousands of Syrian-American medical professionals in the United States will hold “Songs for Syria – A Concert for Humanitarian Relief” at Old South Church in Boston.
The event will feature music by Klezperanto and the Layaali Arabic Music Ensemble. Guests will listen to music, hear stories about Syria, learn about the humanitarian crisis in the country, and be invited to support SAMS.
