The FBI released photos and video of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing on Thursday afternoon and asked for the public’s help in identifying them.

The photos show one man, dubbed Suspect 1, in a dark baseball cap and another man, Suspect 2, in a white, backwards baseball cap, but the FBI did not comment on the ethnicity, age, weight or height of the either suspect.

According to Richard DesLauriers, the FBI Special Agent in charge in Boston, the two suspects were seen walking one behind one another in the crowd near where the explosions occurred on Monday. Suspect 2 was seen sitting a backpack down at the site of the second explosion.

“Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbors, co-workers or family members of the suspects. Though it may be difficult, the nation is counting on those with information to come forward and provide it to us,” DesLauriers said.

DesLauriers also said that the FBI considers the two suspects as “armed and extremely dangerous” and should not be approached.

“Do not take any action on your own,” DeLauriers warned.

DesLauriers also said that the information on the first suspect was developed before today, but that there is “No additional danger we are aware of right now.”

FBI Agent Daniel Curtin explained that the FBI did not issue the photos earlier because it is important to “get it right.”

The FBI ruled out a Saudi student as a suspect earlier this week.

Twin explosions near the finish line of  the Boston Marathon in Copley Square on Monday killed three and injured more than 170. One of the three victims was identified as BU graduate student Lingzi Lu.
